Architecture in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality

Seminar - BSc./MSc.

Class

Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are immersive media that provide a novel spatial experience. Thus, they are close to one of the architectural core competencies: Space.

The seminar offers an introduction to using VR/AR for architectural applications. Various use cases of this technology from architecture and related fields will be showcased. The methods of using the hard- and software for presenting, designing, animating, and interacting with 3D models in AR/VR will be taught. A series of assignments will help to practice these methods. Participants are encouraged to develop their own AR/VR projects with the provided methods and technologies. Experience in 3D modelling and visualization is required.

The seminar is taught in English. The necessary hardware will be provided by the faculty’s AR/VR Lab.
