BIM Process

High Rise Buildings | Seminar – MSc.

Class

Building Information Modeling (BIM) has become indispensable in some areas of construction, while it is only just beginning to be adopted in others. It is beyond question, and nearly all experts agree, that planning, constructing, and operating buildings using an information-rich digital model will be the only method we will use in the future.

The first part of the course introduces the BIM methodology and provides instructions for learning the necessary software. In the second part, students will work in groups of three to four. Each group will work on a building. Within the team, different 'specialists' will each handle a topic such as structural engineering, facade, building planning, or building services. This simulates the practical application of BIM, demonstrating the collaboration of different planning partners on a digital model.

The aim is to convey that BIM is a process that requires a new kind of communication from all project participants, going far beyond specific software.
