Mandatory module for Technical Education students


Course

Using artistic techniques like drawing, molding, and modeling, students will learn the foundations of artistic design.

Exercises focus on sensitizing perception and the interplay of observation, materials used, intention, and composition. Students will develop compositions on the 2-D surface of paper and in the 3-D space of sculpture.

Results will be presented and discussed as a group and in one-on-one conversations. The practical exercises will be accompanied by short lectures on artistic approaches.

This course focuses on teaching the basics of drawing and training perception. Perception of space and body will be sensitized and close observation trained with practical exercises on “Drawing and Color.” Students will develop the ability to illustrate an observation, a spatial situation, or a design using free-hand sketches.
