The students will deepen the knowledge and skills gained during the 1. semester in the areas of drawing, sculpture, and compositions. Along with the practical exercises, students will realize a group project on the theme of “the space of my seat".

Elective modules

Space Behind the Screen

The course introduces the basics of the manual printing techniques of linocut, etching, and silkscreen. Through applied experimentation, participants will be introduced to techniques of the printing workshop.

Space and the Machine

In this seminar we will investigate the ghost in the machine. With the simple means made popular by the “do-it-yourself” movement, we will create kinetic objects and consider the sounds and effects they make. This will also include experimenting with electronic and artificial intelligence.

Flora and fauna in urban space

It is a worldwide phenomenon that biodiversity is increasing in large cities, and is in some places even greater than in the surrounding countryside. Apparently, conditions in the complex small ecosystems of cities are more attractive for some living beings than in rural areas that have been significantly altered by agriculture.

The Space of Darkness

“The Space of Darkness” is a seminar with exercises in analog black-and-white photography. We will practice taking photographs with an analog single-lens reflex camera and will familiarize ourselves with the chemical processes of negative development and enlargement in the darkroom.

Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art

This year’s Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art focuses on decolonial processes. Colonial thinking and actions still shape many realms of our lives—not only in Europe. Decolonial processes challenge us to unlearn what we’ve learned and to constantly question our own point of view.

Space and Movement

In this block seminar we will investigate relationships between bodies and space, thereby above all focusing on conditions and forms of movement. How do we move, at what speed, through which spaces? What possibilities have we not yet exhausted? And what does all that have to do with the atmosphere and dimensions of the space?

Manifesta 14 – Prishtina.2022

Under the title “it matters what worlds world worlds: how to tell stories otherwise,” Manifesta14 in Prishtina, Kosovo explores and develops new methods and forms of collective narrative. The 100-day program from 22.07- 30.10.22 includes exhibitions, interventions, workshops on contemporary art and culture, urban development, theory, research, and dissemination.
