Patterns in Space — Unit and System

Elective module

Course

Using self-designed and -created three-dimensional ceramic elements, we will engage practically and theoretically with the theme “patterns in space.” The goal is to create a sculpture that forms a complex structure through the repetition, rotation, and combination of individual elements.

This course enables students to begin practical work in a ceramic workshop: all steps from design, production, and biscuit firing to various color possibilities and glost firing will be taught, as well as necessary basic concepts and terms. Research and praxis experience will by supported by short presentations.
