On Tuesday, 7 November 2023, following the "Dienstag um 6" lecture, the installation "Choreographing Space" by Hendrik Wiese (dMA) will open in the larger foyer at Herrenhäuser Str. 8.
In art and architecture, there has always been an exploration of human movement, often inspired by technological innovations such as photography and videography, which made it possible for the first time to capture sequences of movement over time.
As a form of three-dimensional motion capture, motion capture also offers exciting opportunities to redefine the relationship between movement, time and space. In this project, this technology is used alongside digital production methods to transform choreographic movements into an expansive installation.
In addition to the use of motion capture as a design tool, the focus is on the possible interactions between the generated architectural space and human movement.
The installation is funded by the "AULET" research incentive programme of the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape. The installation will be on display in the main foyer until 13 November 2023.
